The International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) is committed to supporting members who wish to attend the IAFFE Annual Conference and the Young and Early Career Scholars Pre-Conference but face financial barriers. While funding is limited and not all applicants can be supported, priority will be given to scholars from the Global South, early-career researchers, and those from the Global North with limited institutional resources. If you would like to be considered for a travel grant, please complete the application form with all required information. Please note that awards are intended to partially offset participation costs and may not cover the full expenses of your attendance.
This year’s conference will take place at Okayama University in Okayama, Japan. If you are planning to attend and are unsure whether you need a visa, we strongly encourage you to check Japan’s visa exemption policy using the official List of Countries and Regions for Visa Exemption, published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA). For those who do require a visa, detailed instructions and application procedures are available on the MOFA Japan Visa Information Page. If you need a visa, please plan and submit this form to request an official visa support letter. Eligible foreign residents who need a tourist visa may apply electronically through the JAPAN eVISA Website. Visa applications can be submitted up to three months before your scheduled arrival date in Japan.
Application Deadline:
The travel grant application closes on November 16, 2026, at 23:59 GMT. Late submissions will not be considered.
