The 35th Annual Conference of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) will take place from July 2–4, 2027, at Okayama University, in Okayama in Japan, in collaboration with the Japan Association for Feminist Economics (JAFFE).  An online (remote only) segment will take place from June 17-18.  A forum for feminist economics scholarship and inquiry, this year’s special theme - “Inequalities, Power Structures and Transnational Solidarities, the 2027 conference - will explore the power structures that drive gender inequalities in its multiple forms. By bringing together scholars, activists, and policymakers from around the world, it will celebrate the collective efforts - on local to national to global scale to reimagine economies grounded in justice, equity, and care.

Led by Outgoing President and Conference Chair Sakiko Fukuda-Parr, the Program Committee brings together perspectives from across the feminist economics community to shape the intellectual direction and experience of the 35th Annual IAFFE Conference. The committee develops the conference programme around the questions, debates, and approaches that are most important to feminist economics today, bringing together scholarship, policy, practice, and movements from different regions and contexts. In 2027, the committee is creating space to examine not only how inequalities are produced and sustained but also how feminist economics can help us understand, challenge, and transform the systems and power structures that sustain them. Through plenaries, concurrent sessions, roundtables, and opportunities for exchange, the programme brings people together to foster meaningful dialogue, new connections, and transnational solidarity across the field.
